Professor Akegbejo-Samson Becomes New Dean, Student Affairs

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole has appointed Professor Yemi Akegbejo-Samson of the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, College of Environmental Resources Management (COLERM), as the Dean, Student Affairs of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.

A release signed by the Registrar, Mr. Mathew Ayoola informed that Professor Akegbejo-Samson’s appointment is in recognition of his capacity to give quality leadership and make positive contributions to the overall development of the University.

The release further informed that the appointment is for a period of two years with effect from March 18, 2013.

Professor Akegbejo-Samson, a former Students’ Union Leader in the early eighties graduated from the Premier University, University of Ibadan and is widely travelled.

He has held several administrative positions in the University including Deputy Dean, COLERM under two Deans (2004 – 2006), Deputy Dean Postgraduate School (2006-2007) and Chairman, Time Table and Examination Committee (TIMTEC), 2005-2007.

Professor Akegbejo-Samson was also the first full Head of Department of the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management (2009-2011).

At the religious level, the University don is a youth Pastor, a motivator and a seasoned Student Counsellor
