VC Gives Palliatives to FUNAABites

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kolawole Salako has extended palliatives to project students of the University and appreciated the Student Union Executive’s efforts during the distribution of palliatives to neighbouring towns during the lockdown period. Prof. Salako disclosed that the University had given palliatives to different strata of the society and decided to extend similar gesture to students as critical stakeholders while urging the leadership of the FUNAAB Students’ Union (FUNAABSU) to ensure fairness and equity in the distribution of the items.

Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development), Prof. Clement Adeofun (Middle), expatiating further on the need for the palliative by the management to the student representatives and others present.

Corroborating the Vice-Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Clement Adeofun stated that palliatives such as crates of eggs, garri, bread and other items are products of the University, which were produced in line with its mandate. According to him, “we found out that one of the major areas where we can showcase ourselves and our contribution to the society is to distribute food and specifically, FUNAAB-made food items as palliatives to our neighbours, society and ourselves”. Prof. Adeofun also appreciated members of staff, who were on essential duties during the lockdown, stressing that their selfless service kept the system going. Responding, FUNAABSU President, Comrade Michael Oloyede appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management for the kind gesture, stating that he would always work hand-in-hand with the current administration to achieve success.
