The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has commended participants, organisers, and members of the Alumni Association for the successful hosting of the 2026 Global Convention Marathon Race.

Speaking at the end of the race, the Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to the Global President of the Alumni Association, Otunba Bolaji Gbadamosi and other members of the executive for their painstaking efforts in organising the event. He described the marathon as a commendable initiative that fostered unity, wellness, and a strong sense of community among members of the University.
Prof. Kehinde also lauded the students for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship, noting that their participation reflected the enduring bond between students and alumni, as well as their role as worthy ambassadors of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor further appreciated the Alumni Association for its decision to reward all participants, emphasising that sportsmanship goes beyond winning to include active participation. He encouraged members of the University Community to embrace physical fitness and sporting activities, assuring that the University would continue to support sports development through its Directorate of Sports.
In his remarks, the Global President appreciated all the participants and organisers for their contributions to the success of the marathon race.

Similarly, the Chairman of the Global Convention Organising Committee, Dr. Oludare Adekoyeni, stated that rewarding all participants underscored the inclusive spirit of the Global Convention, noting that every runner played a vital role in the success of the event. He highlighted that the marathon race was one of the key activities designed to promote networking, wellness, and stronger ties among alumni, students, and stakeholders of the University.
