ADAPTI: “We Are Committed To Staff Welfare” – VC

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako has reiterated the University Management’s commitment to the development of staff of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). 

The Vice-Chancellor made this pronouncement while declaring open, the Advanced Digital Appreciation Programme for Tertiary Institution (ADAPTI), a 5-day Computer training put together by Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) and sponsored by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

Addressing the participants, drawn across various sections, units and departments of the University, Professor Salako noted that training is one of the vision of his administration.

Tasking the trainees to be focused on what they are going to be taught, he promised that his administration will do everything to see to staff development and their welfare.

The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the NCC for their support to the University, especially for giving FUNAAB one hundred Laptops, through the recommendation of Senator Biyi Durojaiye.

Professor Salako also seized the opportunity to task staff to desist from spreading fake rumours that are unfounded in the university, but should endevaour to find out the truth, in order to ensure that peace and meaningful development reign.

Earlier in his Opening Remarks, the Director, Academic Planning, Professor Olusola Adeniran said that the aim of training is to keep participants abreast of the technology advancement in today’s digital world.

This according to him, will enable all staff to be 21st Century Compliant and deliver in the 21st Century manner on the jobs. He charged participating staff to make the best use of the opportunity to learn new things.

Speaking on behalf of Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Engineer Bayo Olanrewaju said that DBI is one of the training arms of the NCC, while he added that ADAPTI has been on ground in FUNAAB and other Institutions across the country.

Engineer Olanrewaju noted that the essence of the teaching is to enhance the Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of the University, especially with advanced knowledge in Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and the Internet and Office Productivity Tools (IOPT), among other computer packages.
