The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, is set to be honoured as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership (CIML), Commonwealth of Kentucky, USA. The induction ceremony, which would also recognise other distinguished awardees, is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, by 10:00 a.m. at the Red Chamber of the University.
According to a release signed by the Chairman of the Conference Organising Committee, Dr. Abdussobur Salaam, the Fellowship award would form part of the Continuing Mandatory Development Programme (CMDP) being hosted by FUNAAB.
Dr. Salaam, also a member of the CIML Board of Trustees further stated that the event was organised by the Nigerian Circuit (Southwest) of the CIML, and it was aimed at enhancing professional leadership skills in line with the Institute’s global standards.
The CMDP would feature a keynote session themed “Navigating the Future: Strategic Leadership in the Era of Disruption.” It would also address the evolving challenges leaders face in a rapidly changing world, focusing on strategic decision-making, innovation, and resilience in the face of disruption. The programme seeks to equip participants with insights and tools to excel in their leadership roles.
As FUNAAB continues to grow as a hub for intellectual and professional excellence, the recognition of the Vice-Chancellor underscores the University’s leadership role in shaping the future of management and leadership practices in Nigeria. The CIML induction further solidifies FUNAAB’s commitment to fostering global collaborations and professional development opportunities for its staff and students.
The event is expected to attract top management executives, scholars, and leadership professionals, as well as other stakeholders in the higher education sector within and outside of FUNAAB.
