COVID-19: Management Responds To Fresh Wave- Fumigates Campus 9th Time

In what appears as swift response to the fresh wave of Coronavirus pandemic, announced recently by the Federal Government, the University Management has concluded another round of decontamination of the whole Campus, in order to curtail the spread of the deadly disease.

            The Head, Directorate of Environmental Management (DEM), Mr. Olusola Marayesa while speaking with FUNAAB Bulletin during the fumigation exercise lauded the University Management for taking a pro-active step to curtail the spread of the third wave of the deadly Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) known as the Delta Variant.

            According to him, “The Management is very pro-active in asking us to fumigate the whole Campus, so as to guide against the pandemic. I give kudos to the University Management for taking that pro-active step”.

            The Head, DEM stated that immediately the Federal Government alerted the University about the emergence of the third wave of the pandemic, the Management deemed it fit to take the bold step which was taken earlier to prevent the outbreak.

            Mr. Marayesa disclosed that the fumigation exercise which started on July 16th and ended July 22nd 2021 is about the 9th time the whole Campus including the Institute of Human Resources Development (INHURD) and Institute of Food Security, Environmental Resources is being fumigated to keep people protected and prevent any occurrence of the pandemic in the University Community.

            Speaking on safety of the University environment, the Director made it known that by the end of the fumigation exercise, the whole campus would have been decontaminated, free and safe for everyone to work and learn in.

            Mr. Marayesa however restated that aside from fumigation, all stakeholders in the University should stay safe and continue to comply strictly to the non-pharmaceutical safety protocols against the spread of COVID-19, which are wearing of face mask, keeping social distance and constant washing of hands with soap under a running water or regular use of hand sanitizer in absence of soap and water.
