CSLU Hosts Capacity Development Workshop for Female Students

The Career Services and Linkages Unit (CSLU) at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), in partnership with DOIT Consulting Services, Jobberman Nigeria, and the Mastercard Foundation, is currently hosting a Capacity Development Workshop tailored for female students in their final or penultimate year at the Elias Bogoro Twin Lecture Theatre.

The Workshop which was initiated by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde would span four days, featuring two training sessions daily. It began on Monday, June 3, and would run until Thursday, June 6, 2024.

The Capacity Development Workshop tagged “In Demand Employability Skills” aimed to train over 2,000 female students, providing them with essential skills, knowledge, and experience for the business world.

On the first day, over 600 female students participated, with more than 450 attending the Opening Session.

By the conclusion of the Workshop, it has been estimated that over 2,000 students would have received the Training.

The Workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Iyabode Kehinde, Dean, College of Biosciences (COLBIOS), with Dr. Matthew Oose, Head, CSLU, outlining the Training highlights.

These included Business Preparation & Planning, Business Model Canvas, Preparing a Simple Business Plan, Accounts for Non-Accountants, Managing Customers, Growth Hacking Strategies, and Leveraging Social Media to Boost Business and Improve Profitability.

Dr. Oose also detailed the Training schedule, which included Pre-Assessment & Orientation, Training Sessions, Tea Breaks, Lunch, Post-Assessment, and Certification.

Meanwhile, the Jobberman team comprised the Team Lead, Mubarak Oyedele, and Facilitators like Asugalo Solomon, Munir Odunaye, and Ogunsanya Olajide, supported by Youth Engagement Volunteers like Taiwo Oyelakin, Malik Oyedele, Ifeoluwa Obaro, and Olugbade Olorunleke.

The Monitoring & Evaluation was overseen by Deborah Adeleke and Julius Chiamaka, along with the Senior Assistant Registrar, CSLU, Mrs. Bimpe Alabi.
