… Selected for China-Africa Hundred Universities Cooperation Plan
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has been honoured with selection as one of the 50 African universities chosen for the prestigious China-Africa Hundred Universities Cooperation Plan. The initiative pairs 50 top universities from Africa with 50 leading institutions from China, to foster academic collaboration and mutual growth.
FUNAAB, chosen among the only nine from Nigeria, has been paired with Lanzhou University (LZU), a distinguished Chinese institution established in 1909, to jointly promote agricultural development and allied courses.
Known as one of China’s premier universities, LZU holds a reputation for excellence, particularly as the top university in Northwestern China.
The University Management, under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has already engaged in discussions with LZU, to explore avenues of collaboration. The discussions focus on agricultural development, allied courses, joint research initiatives, and exchange programmes.
The partnership aims to facilitate significant academic and developmental strides between the two universities, and it marked a distinct milestone in FUNAAB’s quest to expand its global footprint.
