As part of its ongoing efforts to establish affiliations with tertiary institutions, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), conducted Resource Assessment visits to the Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan (FCAIB), and the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igbo Ora, prior to the National Universities Commission (NUC) Resource Assessment visit to the institutions on January 9, 2025.
At FCAIB, the FUNAAB delegation, comprising Deans of Colleges and Directors, engaged with the institution’s leadership, which included the immediate past Provost, Ag. Provost, Principal Officers, Deans, and Heads of Departments. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, emphasised the University’s commitment to upholding due process, excellence, and integrity in all academic and administrative operations, from student admissions to graduation, as the cornerstone of the proposed affiliation.
Similarly, the FUNAAB Team also visited OYSCATECH, Igbo Ora, where they met with the Rector, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi, Principal Officers, Deans, and Heads of Departments. The Vice-Chancellor’s representative, Prof. Akinyemi reiterated the importance of adhering to due process and maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence and integrity in the affiliation process.
Meanwhile, Prof. Christopher Alake and Prof. Emmanuel Idehen were introduced as Academic Officers of FCAIB, and OYSCATECH, respectively.
Both visits marked critical steps toward establishing affiliations that align with FUNAAB’s vision of fostering academic growth and institutional collaboration for mutual benefit.
