… As Another Set of NUC Accreditation Team Visits

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) welcomed another set of National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation Team today, November 25, 2024, to evaluate five academic programmes, namely Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Management and Toxicology (EMT), and Veterinary Medicine.
Addressing the visiting Team, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, described the accreditation process as a vital peer review exercise for the University. He assured the Team that all necessary preparations had been made to ensure a successful evaluation, underscoring FUNAAB’s unwavering commitment to excellence in Teaching, Research, and Community Engagement.
Prof. Kehinde expressed optimism about the outcome of the ongoing Accreditation Exercises, noting that the University anticipated positive results for 18 programmes under review. He reiterated FUNAAB’s dedication to producing world-class graduates and fostering research that drives national and global development.
The Vice-Chancellor also encouraged the NUC Accreditation Team to provide constructive feedback and recommendations that could further enhance the quality of the University’s programmes. According to him, the University remains committed to continuous improvement to see the process as an opportunity to further strengthen FUNAAB’s academic standards.
Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor were other senior University officials, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kola Adebayo; Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga; University Librarian, Prof. Abayomi Owolabi and the Director, Directorate of Academic Planning, Prof. Olajide Sogunle, among others.
The NUC representatives for the Programmes under evaluation included Mr. Samuel Ajah Nwachukwu (Veterinary Medicine); Mrs. Yetunde Asekoya (Computer Science); Miss Funmilola Babayode (Chemistry); Mr. Simon Ibu (Environmental Management and Toxicology), and Mrs. Grace Chukwuma (Physics).
The visit marked another significant step in FUNAAB’s ongoing efforts to uphold its reputation as a leading institution of higher learning, committed to academic excellence and impactful societal contributions.
