The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Zoo Park is currently undergoing significant upgrades, following a recent visit by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde.

True to his pledge to enhance infrastructure and animal welfare across the University, the Vice-Chancellor’s visit has sparked immediate improvements at the Zoo Park, with work now in progress on key enclosures.

Among the ongoing projects was the reconstruction of a modern water pool for the geese, designed to improve their habitat and encourage natural behaviour. Similarly, at the serpentarium, a protective water moat was being built to strengthen safety measures and provide a more natural environment for the reptiles.

These interventions underscored Prof. Kehinde’s proactive and visionary leadership, which has continued to drive excellence in
Zoo management, conservation education, and wildlife care at FUNAAB.

Meanwhile, the Zoo Park Management has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for his swift intervention and steadfast commitment to advancing the University’s animal and environmental welfare objectives.
