The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, is set to deliver the Keynote Address at the 2024 Colloquium of the Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). The event, slated for October 3, 2024, would take place at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, by 10 a.m.
With the theme, “Galvanising Public and Private Stakeholders Towards Addressing Food Crisis in Nigeria: Public Relations as a Key Driver,” the colloquium would bring together experts and stakeholders to examine the strategic role of Public Relations in addressing the escalating food crisis in the country.
Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Femi Dokunmu, emphasised that FUNAAB’s groundbreaking success in mitigating tomato scarcity in Southwestern Nigeria was instrumental in the decision to invite Prof. Kehinde to lead the critical discourse.
He added that as a leading University in agricultural research and development, FUNAAB has been uniquely positioned to offer critical insights on addressing Nigeria’s food security challenges.
The colloquium aimed to explore how Public Relations could foster stronger collaboration between public and private sectors, generating synergy to tackle the nation’s food scarcity. It would also underscore the pivotal role of PR in driving innovative solutions to Nigeria’s food security issues.
The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, CON, would grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour.
