In a significant effort to support the agricultural revitalisation programme currently ongoing at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), and also move to ensure food security in the Gateway State, Ogun State Government (OGSG) today, August 30, 2024, donated 100 bags of fertilizer to the University.
While receiving the donation, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde expressed deep gratitude to the Ogun State Government under the leadership of the Governor, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun (CON) for the generous support. He appreciated the government for its dedication to the University’s agricultural revitalisation programme, which was equally aimed at positioning Ogun State as a leading food producer in the country.
Prof. Kehinde highlighted that the fertilizer, valued at approximately ₦40,000 per bag, and ₦4 million in total, would be strategically used to boost the shared agricultural objectives of both the State and the University.
Dr. Emmanuel Bankole, Ag. Director of DUFARMS, also conveyed appreciation for the government’s recognition of their ongoing efforts, expressing hope that the gesture would further strengthen the collaboration between FUNAAB and the Ogun State Government.
