A Professor of Ruminant Animal Production, Professor Ayobami Bukola Joseph Aina has been celebrated for his meritorious service to the University by the College of Animal Science and Livestock Production (COLANIM) and the Department of Animal Production and Health (APH), in particular.
Popularly known as Professor A.B.J. Aina, the university don who bowed out of service was described as humility personified, a minister of God, and a mentor to many that passed through him.
Commenting on the service of Professor Aina in FUNAAB, the Dean, COLANIM, Professor Olusiji Sowande described himself as the first academic son of Professor Aina because he is his first PhD student.
According to the Dean, Professor Aina is a father who has done a lot of positive things “with him, in him and for him”, wishing him, more fruitful years in retirement.
Other members of staff in the College also corroborated the Dean, by sharing their personal experiences with Professor Aina and extolling his good virtues.
Responding, Professor Aina who thanked the COLANIM ‘family’ for celebrating him, charged them to put in their best in all they do and never give up on what they believe.
Highlight of the programme were presentation of gift to him by the College, Department and students.
It would be recalled that Professor Aina was the 35th Inaugural Lecturer of the University titled, “Goat: A Misunderstood Animal”.
