In the spirit of the Christmas season, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) hosted its 32nd Annual Christmas Carol Service, filled with praise and thanksgiving to God.
Themed “Behold His Glory”, the event brought together staff, students, and well-wishers to celebrate God’s blessings and protection throughout the year.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, underscored the essence of Christmas as a time to reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ and the manifestation of God’s glory. He encouraged everyone to embrace the season’s true meaning by showcasing God’s glory through their actions and prayed for greater achievements and blessings in the coming year.
Delivering the keynote sermon, Archbishop Taiwo Akinola of Rhema Christian Church and Towers expounded on the theme by drawing from the Christmas narrative and passages from John 1:1–5 and 1:14. He emphasised the transformative power of beholding God’s glory, urging the audience to embrace its light for renewal and guidance.
The service also reflected FUNAAB’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16, which focused on fostering peace, justice, and strong institutions. It served as a reminder of the importance of these values in nurturing a harmonious and just society.
Attended by present and former Principal Officers, Academic and Non-Teaching staff, students, as well as religious leaders, the Carol Service was a moment of gratitude, reflection, and hope, as the University Community looked forward to a new year filled with divine glory and blessings.
