The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has attributed the University’s achievements and accolades to divine guidance and the collective efforts of its staff, students, and stakeholders.

Prof. Kehinde disclosed this at the Interdenominational Church Service held today, January 19, 2025, at the Chapel of Grace, as part of the activities marking FUNAAB’s 32nd Convocation Ceremony.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, the Vice-Chancellor extended warm greetings and heartfelt appreciation to the Christian Community for their prayers and steadfast support toward the University’s development.

He highlighted the harmonious co-existence among religious groups on campus, describing it as a cornerstone of FUNAAB’s progress.
As a gesture of gratitude, the Vice-Chancellor donated ₦200,000 to the Christian Community, commending their invaluable contributions and encouraging their continued prayers and support.

The Service featured an offering of prayers, reflections, and an inspiring sermon delivered by the University Chaplain, Prof. Christian Ikeobi.
Drawing from the biblical account of Isaac digging wells (Genesis 26:15), the sermon, themed around resilience, vision, and the creation of lasting value, encouraged attendees to emulate Isaac’s persistence in building resources for sustainable growth. Prof. Ikeobi, the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), urged the University Community to embrace hard work, innovation, and a visionary mindset to build a lasting legacy for future generations.

He emphasised the importance of each generation carving out their path rather than relying solely on the achievements of their predecessors. Prof. Ikeobi encouraged the congregation to remain purposeful, impactful, and dedicated to fostering positive change within the University and beyond. “By continuously ‘digging wells,’ FUNAAB and its stakeholders can ensure enduring progress, innovation, and relevance,” he remarked, concluding the sermon with prayers for the University’s continued success and the seamless execution of the 32nd Convocation Ceremony.

Earlier, the activities of the 32nd Convocation Ceremony kicked off with the Jumat Service on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the University Mosque.
