The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kola Adebayo, has continued his official tour of Units, Centres, Directorates, and Institutes under his supervision, with recent visits to the Institute of Communication and General Studies (ICGNS) and the Directorate of University Farms (DUFARMS).

During his visit to ICGNS, Prof. Adebayo commended the ongoing collaboration between the Institute and the Institute of Security, Nigeria, which has started mobilising students for its pioneer academic session. He encouraged ICGNS to explore additional revenue-generating opportunities beyond existing partnerships, suggesting the establishment of a German Language Centre and the introduction of courses in Public Speaking and Conflict Management. He further emphasised the University’s expectation for ICGNS to become self-sustaining and contribute immensely to Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

Welcoming the delegation, the Director of ICGNS, Prof. Remilekun Aduradola, provided an overview of the Institute’s history, objectives, and commitment to advancing scholarship, technological innovation, and human intellectual development.
At DUFARMS, Prof. Adebayo applauded the Directorate’s remarkable achievement of increasing its IGR by 6% between 2023 and 2024. He urged the team to sustain this progress, reiterating the Vice-Chancellor’s vision for agricultural revitalisation within the University.

In his remarks, the Ag. Director of DUFARMS, Dr. Emmanuel Bankole, appreciated the visit and outlined the Directorate’s strategic goals. He highlighted the need for additional personnel, improved staff welfare, and enhanced mechanisation, requesting support for acquiring key equipment, including a bulldozer, to boost farm efficiency and productivity.
The visit concluded with a tour of DUFARMS’ ruminant section, covering the piggery, rabbitry, and poultry units, where Prof. Adebayo commended the staff for their dedication and contributions to the University’s agricultural sustainability.
