FUNAAB to Host ICTP-IAEA on Monte Carlo Applications

The Physics Department of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) is set to host the Joint International Centre of Theoretical Physics-International Atomic Energy Agency (ICTP-IAEA) FUNAAB Sub-Saharan Africa School, focusing on the applications of Monte Carlo and Molecular Dynamics Simulations in Radiation and Health Physics.

According to a statement by the Head of the Physics Department, Prof. Comfort Okeyode, the event would take place from June 23 to June 28, 2024, at the Department of Physics, FUNAAB starting at 9:00 a.m. daily.

She added that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde would preside as the Chief Host.

Sponsored by the Nigeria Society for Radiation Protection (NSRP) and the IAEA-ICTP Office of External Activity, the programme has been designed for fresh postgraduate students, advanced postgraduate students, and young scientists from Sub-Saharan Africa.

Participants would gain both theoretical and practical knowledge in Monte Carlo and Molecular Dynamics Simulation Methods.
