A Professor of Clothing and Textile, Adetoun Amubode of the Department of Home Science and Management (HSM) at the College of Food Science and Human Ecology (COLFHEC), has been appointed as the Judicial Staff Adviser for the 7th Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Student Union (FUNAABSU) Judicial Council.
Expressing gratitude for the appointment, Prof. Amubode credited her ability to fulfill responsibilities to divine wisdom, highlighting her prior service as a member of the Disciplinary Committee for both students and staff at the University.
She acknowledged the support of her husband, Mr. Olufisayo Amubode (FCA), the immediate past Director, Directorate of Internal Audit, as she thanked him for his consistent love and support.
Admonishing the incoming 7th Judicial Council Officers, Prof. Amubode charged them to familiarise themselves with the constitution, while cautioning them against recklessness. She advised that “those in glass houses don’t throw stones”.
In his speech, the Dean, Student Affairs, Prof. Festus Adeosun who was represented by the Deputy Dean, Student Affairs, Prof. Oluseyi Ojekunle, extolled Prof. Amubode’s appointment, citing her as a commendable disciplinarian and advocate of maintaining social decorum.
Dr. Abolanle Lasode, the Acting Head of the Department of Home Science and Management, was also honoured with an award for her dedicated efforts toward student welfare.
Among the attendees were the Dean, COLFHEC, Prof. Wasiu Afolabi; Chief Judge of the 6th FUNAABSU Judicial Council, Hon. Justice Emmanuel Adegboyega; Justice Abdulsalam Bello and others from both the 6th and 7th FUNAABSU Judicial Councils.
