The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), His Royal Majesty, Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, Asoludero, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji land, has reaffirmed the University’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural excellence, declaring that FUNAAB has no record of abandoned or substandard projects.

Oba Olabomi made this assertion today, October 9, 2025, during an inspection tour of completed and ongoing projects within the University, conducted alongside members of the Governing Council. The exercise reflected the Council’s proactive approach to institutional oversight and accountability.
The tour commenced with an inspection of the newly completed Principal Officers’ Quarters, where the Pro-Chancellor commended the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde and his University Management Team, for their dedication to quality project delivery. He explained that the quarters are designed to accommodate the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi; the Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga; and the University Librarian, Prof. Abayomi Owolabi.

It would be recalled that the Governing Council led by the Pro-Chancellor visited the Quarters in June 2025 where he called on the contractors to complete the project as scheduled.
The Inspection Team also visited the College of Physical Sciences (COLPHYS) Building Phase II, which began in July 2024 and was 99% completed. Impressed by the progress, the Pro-Chancellor urged the users to take adequate care of the premises, before officially handing over the building keys to the Dean, Prof. Victor Makinde.

At the newly constructed 120-capacity Undergraduate Student Hostel, a 2023/2024 TETFund Merged Annual Intervention Project, Oba Olabomi expressed satisfaction with the quality of work and officially presented the building keys to the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Festus Adeosun.
The team also inspected the new 100-capacity Anatomy Laboratory Building at the College of Veterinary Medicine (COLVET), where the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde noted that furniture and laboratory equipment would soon be installed. Commending the Management for its consistency in project completion, he symbolically handed over the keys to the Dean, Prof. Olusola Ajayi.

Other facilities visited included the modern Greenhouse, designed as a dual-purpose structure featuring a research laboratory class and a controlled-environment Greenhouse; as well as the Animal Demonstration Laboratory, otherwise known as the Abattoir.
Speaking during the inspection, the Vice-Chancellor expressed profound appreciation to the Pro-Chancellor and the Governing Council for their steadfast support and active supervision. He announced that furniture installation in the Principal Officers’ Quarters would be completed before the end of the month.

Prof. Kehinde further disclosed that Phase II of the Veterinary Anatomy Laboratory project would commence next year, while the Greenhouse project, which was already 99% complete, features advanced automation and climate control technology. On the Animal Demonstration Laboratory, also known as the Abattoir, he revealed that the fully automated facility equipped with cold room was 90% completed, adding that it would be backed up by a 100KVA generator to ensure operational efficiency.
