‘Nimbe Adedipe Library Endows FUNIS With Books

The ‘Nimbe Adedipe Library has donated 67 academic materials (textbooks) to FUNAAB International School (FUNIS).

The FUNIS Board Chairman and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Christian Ikeobi officially took delivery of the books from the University Librarian Dr. Kehinde Owolabi on 10th October, 2023.

The Acting Principal, of FUNIS, Mr. Olusola Ilori made this disclosure in a message of appreciation to parents and guardians of FUNIS students.

According to him, “The materials and books received are of Mathematics, Economics, Literature, and Sciences which are relevant for the use of FUNIS staff and students”.

Mr. Ilori made it known that at the brief event held on the ground floor of the University Library, Dr. Kehinde Owolabi made it known that it is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the Library and FUNIS being a baby of the University was the first to receive the kind gesture.

He added that the University Librarian promised to open his door for FUNIS staff and students in the areas of ICT training, career guidance, and counseling among others.

Prof. Ikeobi on his part admonished the students to imbibe good reading culture and make themselves available at all times to learn more and come up with innovations that would add meaningful values to their academics.

The DVC (Academic) said that FUNIS is well-known across the country for academic excellence and the standard must be improved upon for global recognition.

One of the Students’ Representatives at the occasion, Miss. Oreoluwa Adisa appreciated the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Kehinde, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic)/Board Chairman, FUNAAB Schools’ Management Board, Prof. Christian Ikeobi, and the University Librarian, Dr. Kehinde Owolabi for their love and interest in the affairs of FUNIS. According to her, the donation would go a long way to bring about improvement in their academic performance.

She reminded those in attendance about the renovations done in the hostel before resumption last month, saying the entire students could not hide their joy with what they met on the ground.

Oreoluwa on behalf of the students promised they would take good care of the materials and other facilities put in place by the University Management to ensure improvement in their living conditions at FUNIS.

In his closing remark, the Acting Principal, Mr. Ilori appreciated the University Management and charged them to put all necessary machinery in place for improved productivity and academic excellence of the students.

He requested maximum cooperation and support from all stakeholders in the FUNIS project and prayed for the University Management, University Library, Staff, and Students of FUNIS.
